AV8 Media's Newsletter Sep 2015
It's been an eventful few months since Broadcast Asia . We've been busy running editing courses for broadcasters like HBO,Sony Pictures and Fox Sports as well as for various media freelancers and production companies.
We're seeing more and more production companies and broadcasters finally moving away from Apple's Final Cut Pro 7 to other editing platforms like Adobe Premiere,Avid Media Composer and Apple's Final Cut Pro X.
If you're a freelance editor, knowing just FCP 7 isn't going to cut it (pun intended) any more. Take the opportunity to learn Premiere,Avid and FCP X and make yourself a triple threat. Especially since these courses are subsidised 90% under MDA's Talent Assistance Grant.
At the same time more editors are expressing interest in the basics of colour grading and and understanding of how to properly calibrate their equipement for colour accuracy.
With that in mind we've scheduled more editing and grading courses ,and added an Advanced Colour Grading course to our lineup.
We've also introduced our Producer's Toolkit courses ,covering topics like Content Development ,Production Operations and Delivery and Release. These are ideal for producers, filmmakers and anyone who needs to understand the business aspect of content creation. Each 2 day course is facilitated by industry veteran,Juan Foo.
For those of you working behind the camera,we've also introduced a Professional Camera Motion course as well as a Slow Motion Shooting masterclass.
On the product side of things RED has made some interesting announcements at the IBC trade show and we have have some great storage accessories that will make your day to day work much simpler.
