Adobe Premiere Pro 250:

Premiere Pro for Experienced Editors


This course is designed for the experienced editor who has either Avid, FCP or other equivalent editing experience. Students will go step-by-step through the entire editing process in Premiere Pro, from file creation all the way through output. Along the way they’ll learn the ins-and-outs of file management, essential and intermediate editing techniques, color correction, audio mixing and repairing, titling and effects, and delivering their video onto tape, the web, and mobile devices. They’ll learn to work within the Adobe ecosystem as well, getting up to speed on time saving tools such as Dynamic Link.

Please note : Adobe recomends this be run as a 2 day course but based on feedback from our instructors and trainees we are running it as a 3 day course to allow for more hands on time.

This course is suitable for users of both Premiere CS6 and Premiere CC.

Workstations and courseware are provided

This course is supported for up to 90% subsidy under the MDA Talent Assistance Scheme through Six Degrees Asia . In addition media freelancers can apply for a S$ 7.50 per hour training allowance.

Who Should Attend?

This class is designed for Avid Media Composer Editors and FCP7 Editors who wish to learn Premiere.

Prerequisites:

Prior knowledge of Avid editing systems, FCP7 or other comparable software program is a must. Experience in video editing is required as this is a course designed for experienced video editors.

Note: The curriculum  comprises of activities typically covered in a class at this skill level. The instructor may, at his/her discretion, adjust the lesson plan to meet the needs of the class.

Each student will be provided with their own workstation.

About the Instructors

Gerard Tay

Gerard is an Adobe Certified Instructor in Adobe Premiere Pro and a Film and TV editor with eight years of broadcast editing experience working largely on local and regional broadcast projects, some corporate videos and commercials. Some of his works include the TV series "Fighting Spiders", which won Special Prize at the 2009 Seoul Drama Awards, and was nominated for various awards at the 2009 Asian Television Awards. He also worked as post technical supervisor on a few reality series namely "The Challenger:Muay Thai" which aired on AXN.

He moderates on the Los Angeles Creative Pro User Group with the pen name Strypes, and is proficient with Final Cut Pro 7, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve.

Ian Wee



Ian is an Adobe Certified Instructor for Adobe Premiere Pro.He is also an Apple Authorised Instructor for both Final Cut Pro 7 and FCP X. In addition to teaching these editing platforms Ian has also conducted courses in Stereoscpic 3D production,RED Camera and many other production related fields for institutions like NYU Tisch School of Film,Ngee Ann Polytechnic,ITE ,NTU and Sony Singapore.

 He is a director who is gifted both creatively and technically – He was one of the early adopters of HD technology and directed one of the first multicam HD shoots in Singapore for the F1 Powerboat race..While he was still a Managing Director at Widescreen Media Pte Ltd (of which he is one of the founders), he supervised post-production for broadcast programmes & feature films, and helped spearhead Stereoscopic 3D production in Asia.
